bubble_chart Overview

An epididymal cyst refers to a cystic mass within the epididymis, mostly located in the head of the epididymis. When the cyst fluid contains sperm, it is also called a spermatocele.

bubble_chart Diagnosis

There are usually no obvious symptoms, but sometimes testicular distending pain may be felt. Upon palpation, a cystic mass can be detected at the head of the epididymis, and the transillumination test is positive.

bubble_chart Treatment Measures

Asymptomatic individuals do not require treatment. For those with severe symptoms or larger cysts who are married and have children, surgical removal may be performed. However, surgery may damage the epididymal ducts and affect fertility, so caution should be exercised for unmarried patients.
