bubble_chart Overview Abdominal Apoplexy Syndrome refers to a syndrome of acute abdomen and shock caused by spontaneous rupture of intra-abdominal blood vessels. It is also known as spontaneous massive intra-abdominal hemorrhage, intra-abdominal apoplexy syndrome, or mesenteric or subperitoneal hemorrhage syndrome. It is more common in male patients with arteriosclerosis and hypertension.

The main symptoms are sudden severe abdominal pain, pale complexion, a drop in blood pressure, shock, and signs of peritoneal irritation. Restlessness is often present.

1. Laboratory tests showed anemia and leukocytosis. The ascites fluid obtained by paracentesis was bloody.
2. Abdominal X-ray revealed fluid levels.

Once the disease is diagnosed, surgery should be performed as soon as possible to repair the ruptured blood vessels. Blood transfusion, fluid infusion, antibiotics, and shock correction should be administered to stabilize vital signs.
