bubble_chart Content Liu, female, 53 years old, has been suffering from persistent low-grade fever (around 37.5°C) for over two months. She also experiences fullness in the stomach and discomfort due to stiffness in the neck. Her pulse is wiry, and her tongue is enlarged with a dripping, watery coating. Upon inquiry, she reports short and difficult urination with a sensation of incomplete voiding. Considering the principles outlined in Article 28, the condition was diagnosed as water stagnation suppressing yang. Therefore, instead of treating the fever directly, the approach was to promote water discharge using Cinnamon Twig minus Cinnamon plus Poria and White Atractylodes Decoction. After taking three doses, her urination became smooth, and the low-grade fever and other symptoms resolved accordingly.
