He had a history of stomach problems and recently consumed raw and cold fruits, initially experiencing umbilical pain, followed shortly by nausea and vomiting, accompanied by watery diarrhea more than 10 times a day; he vomited frequently from morning till night, about 20 times, initially with watery food, later with sticky foam; his complexion was pale, limbs cold, body curled up, speech faint, and mental state confused; both pulses were wiry and thin without strength, tongue texture pale red, with thin white and moist coating. The syndrome was attributed to cold deficiency in the stomach and weak middle yang. He was prescribed one dose of Evodia Decoction, decocted with water and taken in three doses, one every half hour. On the second day, during follow-up, his pulse had slowed, vomiting had stopped, but he was somnolent. The decoction was halved, and after taking it, the aforementioned symptoms disappeared.
