Initially, there was fever and aversion to cold, headache and body pain, deep sleep and lethargy (i.e., shaoyin disease, somnolence), accompanied by thirst with a preference for hot drinks but not much, pulse deep and thin with a tight quality. Tongue coating white and slippery, texture mixed with blue-purple. This is due to the inherent deficiency of kidney qi, weak inner yang, unable to defend and secure the exterior against intruding pathogens, leading to wind-cold taking advantage of the deficiency and directly entering shaoyin, blocking the operation of Taiyang (EX-HN5), resulting in this condition. Treated with Zhongjing's Ephedra, Asarum and Aconite Decoction, assisting yang and releasing the external:
Black Aconite Lateral Root 36g (to be decocted first for 2-3 hours) Ephedra 9g (raw, boiled several times to remove foam) Northern Asarum 6g Cinnamon Twig tips 12g
On the third day, after taking one dose of the above prescription, sweating occurred, fever subsided, only dizziness and cough remained, spirit timid, however, although the exterior pathogen was resolved, lung cold was not yet completely cleared. Yang qi was still deficient, with reversal cold of limbs combined with Erchen plus Asarum, Schisandra Fruit, to support yang and warm cold:

After one dose, cough immediately stopped, appetite increased, spirit recovered, and the illness was cured.
