Twenty years ago, I suffered from cold-damage disease, diagnosed as Pueraria Decoction syndrome. Initially, I thought taking Pueraria Decoction would cure me, but after inducing sweating, the illness did not subside, and my body temperature gradually increased, remaining high for three days without any reduction in fever. On the afternoon of the fourth day, I began to experience aversion to cold again, along with stiffness in the neck, fullness and discomfort in the chest and hypochondrium, a bitter taste in the mouth, and a white, thick, and dry tongue coating. Once the aversion to cold subsided, it was followed by fever, profuse sweating, dry throat, and thirst. The next day, I also felt cold in my back, while my face, chest, and abdomen were feverish, and the stiffness in the neck, profuse sweating, and thirst persisted. Considering that I exhibited symptoms of both Pueraria Decoction syndrome and Minor Bupleurum Decoction syndrome, as well as White Tiger Decoction Plus Ginseng syndrome, I consulted with my colleagues and decided to take a combined formula of Minor Bupleurum Decoction and White Tiger Decoction Plus Ginseng. However, not only was there no improvement, but by evening, I also developed symptoms of panting. The following day, I sought treatment from my esteemed teacher, Mr. Okuda, who diagnosed it as White Tiger Decoction Plus Ginseng syndrome. After taking the prescribed decoction, within less than 20 minutes, the sweating stopped, my breathing normalized, the heaviness in my chest was relieved, and I was cured.
