Ms. Zeng, female, 45 years old. The onset was characterized by aversion to cold with fever. After 3 days, the exterior pattern had resolved, but symptoms of vomiting and inability to eat appeared, with hardness below the heart, pain upon pressure, thirst without desire to drink, a pale tongue with white coating, deep and slow pulse, and cold extremities. She was prescribed one dose of White Powder.
Platycodon Root and Fritillaria Bulb, 15g each, and Croton Fruit Frost, 1g (to be taken infused).
After taking the medication, she experienced rapid relief, and the "thoracic accumulation" was resolved. However, she then developed a sensation of qi rushing from the lower abdomen to the throat, accompanied by vomiting, resembling the "running-piglet" syndrome. She was urgently given Cinnamon Twig plus Cinnamon Twig Decoction, and after one dose, all symptoms subsided. Later, she experienced dizziness, tinnitus, and unsteadiness upon standing, indicative of upward invasion of water retention. She was instructed to take Alisma Decoction, and after two doses, she recovered.
