Wang Tian (1497–?), courtesy name Bang Gong, also known as Yian, and by the alternative name Xiaoyaoshanren, was a native of Qimen during the Ming Dynasty. Wang Tian delved into the works of various scholars on the Suwen, mastering the profound principles of medicine, and his treatments often achieved miraculous results, saving many lives. His diagnostic and therapeutic approaches were frequently unique, and the "Qimen County Annals" praised him as "a physician who did not rigidly adhere to ancient prescriptions." During the Jiajing era, Wang traveled to the capital, where his medical skills earned him merit in treating the crown prince, leading to his promotion to imperial physician. He served in this role for 10 to 15 years before returning to his hometown after the 21st year of Jiajing. He authored "Medical Fragments" (now lost). Wang left behind 87 medical cases in Beijing covering internal medicine, surgery, gynecology, and pediatrics, which were recently discovered for the first time domestically. These have been compiled into "Wang Yian's Medical Cases," with a preface by Professor Geng Jianting.
