bubble_chart Description Cheng Dan-an (1899-1957), originally named Dan'an, was born in Jiangyin, Jiangsu, and later moved to Wuxi. In 1931, he founded the Chinese Acupuncture and Moxibustion Research Society, which relocated to Wuxi the following year. He also established a correspondence department, widely recruiting members to collectively promote academic advancement, guiding practitioners to improve their acupuncture and moxibustion skills, and founded the "Acupuncture and Moxibustion Magazine." In 1934, he traveled to Japan for academic research. Upon returning to China, he collaborated with peers to establish the Chinese Acupuncture and Moxibustion Medical School and Acupuncture and Moxibustion Sanatorium in Wuxi, translating several Japanese works on acupuncture and moxibustion meridians and collaterals. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, he served as the principal of the Jiangsu Traditional Chinese Medicine Advanced Training School and vice president of the Chinese Medical Association. He was a member of the Biology Division of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and was elected as a member of the Second National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. His major work is "Chinese Acupuncture and Moxibustion Therapy."
