Legend has it that in ancient times, a physician and minister of Huangdi was renowned for his expertise in human constitution theory, which has been passed down through the ages. When Shaoshi responded to Huangdi's questions about the yin-yang aspects of humans, he stated, "Between heaven and earth, within the six pairs of meridians, nothing escapes the five elements, and humans are no exception." Shaoshi provided a detailed description of the physical constitution, personality traits, and behavioral characteristics of five types of people. Shaoshi's theories were later developed by Korean medical scholars into the "Four Constitutions Medicine."
