bubble_chart Description Fuxishi is one of the Three Sovereigns, also known as Fuxi, Paoxi, Fuxi, Xihuang, and Huangxi, roughly existing during the middle and late Paleolithic era. In Chinese mythology, he and Nüwa are considered the ancestors of humanity. Legend has it that Fuxi was exceptionally wise and heroic, and he was granted the throne by Suirenshi to rule the world.
Fuxi's greatest contribution was the invention of the Bagua, using eight abstract symbols to represent eight categories of natural phenomena. The Book of Changes, Xi Ci II states: "In ancient times, when Paoxishi ruled the world, he looked up to observe the celestial phenomena... and thus created the Bagua to comprehend the virtues of mental activity and to classify the emotions of all things."
Fuxi gained inspiration from observing various natural phenomena and invented rope twisting and net weaving, improving fishing and hunting techniques, which greatly advanced the productivity of primitive society. Fuxi also inherited the method of drilling wood to make fire from Suirenshi, promoting the experience of drilling wood for fire and preserving fire, and invented the habits of roasting, grilling, steaming, and boiling food, significantly improving primitive lifestyles.
Fuxishi is also traditionally regarded as one of the founders of Chinese medicine. The Records of the Emperors states: "Fuxi tasted hundreds of herbs and created the nine needles," and for thousands of years, the Chinese medical community has revered him as the ancestor of medicine and Acupuncture and Moxibustion.
Fuxi should be considered the collective name of the ancient clans, viewed as the group that initiated the Bagua theory to enrich the understanding of nature and made fundamental contributions to health care and medicine.
