Volume 2. It incorporates various scholars' theories related to sores and swellings, first detailing diagnostic methods, followed by discussions on blood, qi, color, and pulse, and later describing treatments for abscesses, ulcers, sores, and swellings. It emphasizes the concept of holism and advocates for a combined approach of attack and supplementation. Written by Qi De-zhi of the Yuan Dynasty, the work consists of 2 volumes. The exact year of composition is unknown, but it was published in 1335. Later, during the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty (1522-1566), it was included in the Dongyuan Shishu. Today, there are editions from the early Ming Dynasty, the Jiajing edition, the Yitong Zhengmai edition, the Siku Quanshu edition, and the Zhongguo Yixue Dacheng edition, among others. In 1956, the People's Medical Publishing House released a photocopy edition.
This book extensively collects classical medical texts such as the Neijing and Nan Jing, along with notable theories on surgery from Bian Que, Zhang Zhongjing, and Hua Tuo, and integrates the author's own clinical experience. The first volume contains 35 essays on surgical medical theories, including methods for diagnosing sores and swellings and their treatments. The second volume includes 145 effective formulas such as decoctions, pills, powders, ointments, and elixirs from various scholars, along with discussions on the processing of materia medica and single-ingredient prescriptions for treating sores and swellings. In terms of diagnosis, it emphasizes comprehensive analysis of the four examinations, particularly focusing on external appearances and pulse diagnosis. It also provides detailed discussions on 26 types of pulse manifestations in relation to the clinical characteristics of sores and ulcers, which is a distinctive feature of this book.
