bubble_chart Description 2 volumes, written by Yu Lin (Shiyu) in the late Qianlong period of the Qing dynasty (exact year of writing unknown). Yu, after his father died from a seasonal epidemic due to misdiagnosis by other doctors, devoted himself to the study of pestilence and epidemic eruptive diseases, accumulating rich academic experience. The first volume of the book discusses the origins of epidemic eruptive diseases, key points of diagnosis and treatment, and the differentiation of common symptoms; the second volume lists 28 prescriptions for epidemic eruptive diseases, explains the principles behind the prescriptions, and includes several medical cases. Yu discusses epidemics and epidemic eruptive diseases, referencing relevant diagnostic content from the Wenyi Lun, and establishes major treatment methods such as clearing heat, detoxifying, cooling blood, and purging fire. He is adept at using gypsum to treat pestilence and epidemic eruptive diseases, and the Plague-Clear Toxin-Vanquishing Decoction he created uses a large amount of gypsum. He proposed the theory that "gypsum is indispensable for treating heat epidemics," and his academic and clinical work has had a significant influence on later generations. This book currently exists in a manuscript from the 59th year of Qianlong (1794), a block-printed edition from the 8th year of Daoguang (1828), other Qing dynasty block-printed editions, and has been reproduced and typeset after the founding of the People's Republic of China.
