Later, it was annotated by He Xiushan, revised by He Lian-chen, supplemented by Cao Bingzhang, and organized by Xu Rongzhai, and renamed as Chongding Tongsu Shanghan Lun.

The book is divided into 12 chapters: the essence of cold-damage disease, six classical formula medicines, exterior and interior cold and heat, qi and blood deficiency and excess, cold-damage disease diagnostic methods, cold-damage disease pulse and tongue, cold-damage disease primary syndromes, cold-damage disease concurrent syndromes, cold-damage disease complicated syndromes, cold-damage disease deteriorated syndromes, cold-damage disease recurrent syndromes, and adjustment methods, detailing the treatment of cold-damage disease.
