This book was written by Chen Si-cheng and published in the fifth year of the Chongzhen era (1632). It is a specialized work on syphilis, divided into five sections: General Introduction, Questions and Answers, Treatment Experiences, Methods, and Precautions. The book discusses the transmission routes of syphilis and provides quite accurate descriptions of the hard chancre, flat condyloma, syphilitic macules and papules, annular papules, leukoplakia, scale lesions, and late-stage gumma lesions of primary and secondary syphilis, as well as symptoms involving the bones, joints, and nervous system, and the unique manifestations of congenital syphilis. It emphasizes the principles of thorough treatment, prevention, and relapse prevention. The book pioneered the use of attenuated inorganic arsenic compounds for treating syphilis. It includes 29 case studies, 55 prescriptions, and details on their preparation and application. In the Precautions section, six cases of mistreatment are listed, analyzing specific requirements for medication and dietary precautions.
