Volume Two compares ancient and modern people, as well as ancient and modern books. Volumes Three, Four, and Five discuss diseases, exploring the origins and conditions of each syndrome, and pointing out the advantages and disadvantages of medical practices. Recently, excerpts of his medical discussions from Lu Shi's "Miscellaneous Knowledge from the Cold Hut" have been compiled as a supplement.
