bubble_chart Etymology

"Ba" (八), eight; "feng" (風), wind. This acupoint consists of eight locations and was originally used to treat weakness of the feet and wind-related disorders, hence the name "Bafeng" (eight winds).

On the dorsum of foot, between 1st to 5th toes, at the junction of red and white skin posterior to web margins. There are four points on each foot, totaling eight points.

  • Muscles: interosseous muscles.
  • Vessels: dorsal digital arteries and veins.
  • Nerve: superficial and deep peroneal nerves.

Insert obliquely upward 0.5~0.8 cun. Alternatively, prick with a three-edged needle to induce bleeding.

Beriberi, redness and swelling of instep, malaria, poisonous snake bite, cyanosis of toes, peripheral neuritis.
