bubble_chart Etymology
"Feng" (鳳), phoenix, the legendary divine bird; "yan" (眼), eye. This acupoint is located at the medial end of transverse crease of thumb's interphalangeal joint. When thumb is flexed, the skin folds and bulges, resembling the eye of a phoenix, hence the name "Fengyan" (phoenix eye).

On radial side of thumb, at radial end of transverse crease of distal interphalangeal joint. There are two points, one on each hand. Located approximately 1 cun behind thumb nail, at the medial end of transverse crease, found with thumb flexed.

Insert 1~2 fen. Local soreness or numbness may be felt, sometimes radiating to the fingertip. Moxibustion 1 to 3 times.
