On the lateral side of the chest, 1 cun anterior to Yuanye (GB22), approximately level with the nipple, at the midpoint of the line connecting Yuanye (GB22) and Tianxi (SP18).
- Zhenjiu Jiayi Jing: "3 cun below armpit, then 1 cun forward, adjacent to ribs".
- Zhenjiu Dacheng adds: "At the end of third rib, 7.5 cun lateral to sternum, level with nipples. Locate by lying on the side with upper leg bent".
