"Mu" (目), eye; "chuang" (窗), window.
The acupoint is located directly above eye, like a window connecting to the upper part of eye.
The qi of foot shaoyang gallbladder meridian passes through this point to reach Zhengying (GB17), therefore it is also named "Zhiying" (至營), meaning "reaching Zhengying."

On the top of head, 2 cun posterior to anterior hairline, 2.25 cun lateral to the midline of head, on the line connecting Toulinqi (GB15) and Fengchi (GB20).

- Nerve: combined branches of medial and lateral branches of frontal nerve.
- Vessels: frontal branch of the frontal artery and vein.
