bubble_chart Etymology

"Shu" (俞), to transport; "fu" (府), to gather. The qi of foot shaoyin kidney meridian gathers here and is transported to chest, hence its name.

Located below clavicle, 2 cun lateral to the midline of chest (Xuanji (CV21)), in the depression.

bubble_chart Anatomy

  • Muscle: pectoralis major. (deep layer: lung)
  • Nerve: medial supraclavicular nerve.
  • Vessels: perforating branches of internal thoracic artery and vein.

bubble_chart Manipulation

Transverse insertion 0.3~0.5 cun. Avoid deep insertion. Moxibustion with moxa cone 3 to 5 times, moxibustion with moxa stick for 5 to 10 minutes.

bubble_chart Efficacy

Disinhibit qi, relieve wheezing.

  • Classical: Coughing with counterflow of qi, wheezing and difficulty breathing, vomiting, fullness in chest and inability to eat, hemoptysis.
  • Modern: pleurisy.

  • Wheezing and wind-phlegm: Shufu (KI27), Rugen (ST18).
