The point belongs to foot shaoyin kidney meridian, hence the term "Yin" (陰). It is located near Zhongwan (中脘), hence the term "du" (都), a gathering place. It is also called "Shigong" (食宮) (Zhenjiu Jiayi Jing), indicating its connection to stomach. Located below Shiguan (石關, KI18), it is also called "Tongguan" (通關) (Zhenjing Zhaiying Ji).
