This product is the dried body of the insect belonging to the Scarabaeidae family, commonly known as the dung beetle (Cathsrsius molossus Linnseus). It is colloquially referred to as the dung beetle or cow dung beetle. It is captured in the summer, then scalded to death in boiling water, and subsequently dried in the sun or by baking.
