1. Used for heat toxin bloody dysentery, cold accumulation chronic dysentery. This product is bitter and cold, clearing heat and removing toxin, drying dampness to kill worms, cooling blood and stopping dysentery, hence it can be used to treat heat toxin bloody dysentery, pus and blood in stool, tenesmus, and other symptoms. It can be used alone, such as in "Yixue Zhongzhong Canxilu", where 20-50 peeled seeds are taken with sugar water to treat heat-type red dysentery and bleeding due to heat in the stool and urine. Based on the experience of predecessors using this product to treat cold accumulation chronic dysentery, modern clinical practice uses it to treat amoebic dysentery, employing both oral administration and enema methods.
2. Used for various types of malaria. This product is bitter and cold, enters the liver meridian, can clear liver-gallbladder dampness-heat, and has the effect of killing worms and preventing the attack of malaria. It can be applied to all types of malaria, especially effective for tertian malaria and quartan malaria, and also effective for malignant malaria.
3. Used for corns and warts. This product has a corrosive effect when applied externally. Use the kernel of java brucea fruit mashed and applied to the affected area, or use java brucea fruit oil and 90% java brucea fruit ointment for local application. Care should be taken to protect the surrounding normal skin with adhesive tape to prevent irritation to the normal skin.
