1. Used for chronic diarrhea, prolonged dysentery. This product is sweet, warm, and astringent, capable of warming the interior and astringing the intestine to stem collapse. Suitable for deficiency-cold prolonged dysentery, incessant diarrhea, prolapse of rectum, etc. Often used in mutual reinforcement with limonite, such as Red Halloysite and Limonite Decoction; or used together with warming the middle and dissipating cold, tonifying deficiency agents like Dried Ginger, rice, such as Peach Blossom Decoction.
2. Used for menorrhagia and metrostaxis, leukorrhea, bloody stool, etc. This product can stop metrorrhagia and leukorrhagia, astringe and stop bleeding. For treating menorrhagia and metrostaxis, bloody stool, it is often used with limonite, cuttlebone sepium, etc.; for liver and kidney deficiency, women with red leucorrhea, it can be used with degelatined deer-horn, Gordon Euryale Seed, and other kidney-warming and leucorrhea-stopping medicines.
