[Variety Source]

This product is the mature seed of Strychnos nuxvomica (S. nuxvomica L.), a large woody vine of the Strychnos family. The former is mainly produced in Yunnan, Guangdong, Hainan and other places; the latter is mainly produced in India, Vietnam, Myanmar, Thailand and other places. Collect the fruits when they are ripe in winter, take out the seeds, dry them in the sun, process them of materia medica and then use them as medicine.

nux vomica is also called nux vomica; another vine of the bottle gourd peel family, cochinchina momordica seed, is also called cochinchina momordica seed. The two families are different and have different medicinal properties, so they should not be confused. nux vomica is round in shape. The center of one side is sunken, tucked like a button, and densely covered with filamentous hairs; cochinchina momordica seed is a flat plate with a bulge in the middle, serrated protrusions on the periphery, and no hairs. In clinical practice, nux vomica (nux vomica) is more commonly used, while cochinchina momordica seed (cochinchina momordica seed) is sweet, warm and toxic.   3. In modern clinical practice, this product is used to treat myasthenia gravis, starting with taking 0.45g per day, divided into three times, and gradually increasing to 1~1.2g per day. It has certain curative effect.
