This product is the dried whole body of the pit viper from the family Viperidae or the banded krait from the family Elapidae. It is mainly produced in Guangdong, Hunan, Hubei, Zhejiang, and Guangxi. The pit viper produced in Qizhou, Hubei, is known as the Long-Nosed Pit Viper.
