3. Processing

1. Talc processing: Place talc powder in a pot, heat with strong fire, add elephant hide slices, stir-fry until puffed and turn yellowish-brown, then remove, sieve out talc powder, let cool, and grind into fine powder. Use 30kg of talc powder for every 100kg of elephant hide slices (《Specifications》).
2. Scalding: Heat sand in a pot, add elephant hide pieces, stir-fry until puffed, remove, sieve out sand, and grind into fine powder (《Liaoning》).
3. Soil processing
   1. Heat white soil with strong fire, add the above-mentioned elephant hide slices, stir-fry until fully puffed and slightly yellow, remove from the pot, sieve out white soil, spread out, and let cool (《Gansu》).
   2. Heat fine yellow soil in a pot until loose, add elephant hide slices, stir-fry with mild fire until puffed and foamy, slightly yellow, remove, sieve out yellow soil, and let cool (《Ningxia》).
4. Clam Shell Powder processing: Roast elephant hide until soft, cut into pieces, then stir-fry with clam shell powder in a pot, remove and grind into powder (《Compilation》).
