This product is the mature peel of Pricklyash Peel (Zanthoxylum bungeanum Maxia.) or green pepper (Z. schinifolium Sieb. et Zucc.), a shrub or small tree of the beautiful steetgum resin family. It is distributed in most parts of my country, but the ones produced in Sichuan are better, so it is also called Pricklyash Peel and Pricklyash Peel. Harvest mature fruits in autumn, dry them in the sun, and remove seeds and impurities. Use raw or fried.

[Efficacy]

Warming the middle relieves pain, kills worms, and relieves itching.

1. Used for cold in the middle abdominal pain, cold-dampness vomiting and diarrhea. This product's pungent powder warms dryness, is longer than warming middle and drying dampness, dissipates cold to relieve pain, and relieves vomiting and diarrhea. It can be used to treat external cold, internal invasion, stomach cold, abdominal pain and vomiting. It can be used equally with Fresh Ginger Rhizome and Cardamon Fruit. It is used to treat deficiency-cold of spleen and stomach, epigastric cold pain, vomiting, and inability to eat. It is often used synonymously with Dried Ginger and Ginseng, such as Major Center-Fortifying Decoction. It is used to treat cold-dampness, abdominal pain, vomiting and diarrhea. It is often used with Atractylodes Rhizome, Villous Amomum Fruit, and Alpinia Seed.
2. Used for abdominal pain due to worm accumulation. This product has the effect of expelling ascaris and killing worms. It can be used to treat abdominal pain due to insect accumulation, reversal cold of limbs, boredom and vomiting of roundworms. It can be equivalent to Smoked Plum, Dried Ginger and Phelloendron Bark Use, such as Mume Pill. For those with mild abdominal pain caused by insect infestation, it can be used with Smoked Plum, Grand Torreya Seed, and Quisqualis Fruit. If treating enterobiasis, the decoction of this product can be used as a retention enema.
3. For eczema cutaneous pruitus, women pruritus vuluae, this product has the effect of killing worms, dispelling dampness to relieving itching. Can be washed with hot water alone.

[Usage and Dosage]

[Modern Pharmacology]

This product contains volatile oil. The main components in the oil are geranol, limonene, cumyl alcohol, isofennel fruit ether, etc. The volatile oil of this product has anesthetic and analgesic effects. This product has inhibitory effects on diphtheria, anthrax, diphtheria pneumonia, Staphylococcus aureus, disease caused by cold bacilli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and certain skin fungi. It has the effect of killing Ascaris suum.
