This product is a perennial herbaceous plant of the Platycodon Root family Tangshen (Codonopsis pilosula (Franch.) Nannf.) Tangshen (Codonopsis pilosula Nannf. var. modesta (Nannf.) L.T. Shen) or the dried roots of Tangshen (Codonopsis tangshen Oliv.). Mainly produced in Shanxi, Shaanxi, Gansu, Sichuan and other provinces. Because Shanxi Shangdang was the most famous, it was named Tangshen. Dig it in autumn, wash it and dry it in the sun. Cut into thick slices and use raw.

[Indications]

  1. It is used for physical weakness and fatigue due to insufficient middle qi, lack of food, loose stool, etc. Can tonify middle and replenishing qi. Often used with Astragalus Root, White Atractylodes Rhizome, etc.
  2. Used for lung qi deficiency, cough, shortness of breath, low voice, etc. Can tonify lung and replenish qi. Can be used in combination of medicinals Skullcap Root, Schisandra Fruit and the like.
  3. It is used for shortness of breath and thirst caused by both Qi and body damage, complexion shallow yellow, dizziness and palpitation caused by both Qi and blood deficiency. It has the effect of tonifying qi to produce fluid and tonifying qi to produce blood. It can be combined with Ophiopogon Tuber, Schisandra Fruit and other body-stimulating drugs, or Chinese Angelica, Prepared Rehmannia Root YellowSame as blood tonic.
