bubble_chart Source This product is the root of the perennial herb American ginseng (Panax quinquefolius L.) from the Araliaceae family. It is primarily produced in the United States, Canada, and France, and is also cultivated in China. The roots, which have grown for 3 to 6 years, are harvested in autumn. After removing the branches and fibrous roots, they are dried in the sun. They are then moistened with water, the outer skin is rubbed off, and they are fumigated with sulfur before being dried again, resulting in what is called "peeled American ginseng." If the roots are dried or baked with the skin intact immediately after being dug up, they are referred to as "unpeeled American ginseng." The roots are sliced for medicinal use.
