Distributed everywhere. The Northeast has the largest production, so it is known as "Guan Chinese Gentian". Excavate in autumn, dry in the sun, cut into sections, and use raw.

[Indications]

1. Used for swelling of vulva pruritus vuluae, leukorrhea, and jaundice for red urine. This product has great cold (24th solar term), clearing heat and drying dampness, especially good at clearing dampness-heat in lower energizer. Used to treat dampness-heat pouring down, swelling of vulva pruritus vuluae, leukorrhea in women, scrotal swelling and pain in men, eczema cutaneous pruitus, etc. It is often used with Phelloendron Bark, Sophora, Atractylodes Rhizome and other medicines; used to treat liver-gallbladder dampness-heat, jaundice, red urine, can be combined with Virgate Wormwood, Gardenia, Phelloendron Bark and the like.
2. Used for liver fire headache, red eye deafness, hypochondriac pain bitter taste in mouth. This product is bitter and cold, and can purge liver and gallbladder excess fire. Mostly used with Bupleurum, Skullcap Root, Akebia Stem, such as Gentian Liver-Draining Decoction .
3. It is used for febrile convulsions and convulsion of hands and feet caused by excessive heat in the liver meridian and extreme heat producing wind. This product can clear and purging the liver and gallbladder. It is mostly used with Cow-Bezoar, Uncaria and Coptis Rhizome. It can synergize with the effect of clearing the liver and calming wind, such as Liangjing Pills.

[Precaution]

It should not be used by those with deficiency-cold of spleen and stomach. People with yin deficiency should use with caution.

This product contains Chinese Gentian picroside, Chinese Gentian alkali, Chinese Gentian flavin, and Chinese Gentian sugar. Chinese Gentian Decoction has a certain inhibitory effect on Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Proteus bacteria, disease caused by cold bacilli, Staphylococcus aureus, certain skin fungi and Leptospira, and has anti-inflammatory effects. Chinese Gentian base has a sedative effect, can also relax muscles, and has a hypotensive effect on anesthetized animals. Gentian taken orally in small amounts can reflexively enhance gastric juice secretion and increase free acid, which can aid digestion and increase appetite.
