This product is a refined and processed extract of natural sulfur ore. It is mainly produced in Shanxi, Shandong, Henan, and other regions. It can be mined throughout the year. After mining, it is heated and melted to remove impurities, and the upper layer of the solution is extracted and cooled to obtain the final product. Raw sulfur is only for external use. For internal use, it must be boiled with tofu until the tofu turns green, then removed, rinsed, and dried in the shade. When used, it is ground into powder.

Raw sulfur: Remove impurities and break into small pieces. Processed sulfur: Take cleaned sulfur pieces and cook them with tofu until the tofu turns dark green. Remove, rinse off the tofu, and dry in the shade. (For every 10 jin of sulfur, use 20 jin of tofu.)
Gangmu: "When using sulfur in pills or powders, hollow out a radish, place the sulfur inside, seal it, and roast over rice husk fire to remove the foul odor; cook with purple-backed Spirodela to eliminate fire toxin; rinse with Chinese Honeylocust Fruit soup to remove black liquid. Another method: Crush and place in a silk bag, boil with ash-free wine for three fu periods. Also, niter can dissolve sulfur into water; bury sulfur in a bamboo tube in horse manure for one month to produce sulfur liquid."

The pure product mainly contains sulfur. After oral administration, a portion of this product is converted into sulfide or hydrogen sulfide in the intestines, which can stimulate the intestinal wall and have a laxative effect. Sublimed sulfur has bactericidal and scabicidal effects; local application can dissolve keratin on the skin. Excessive concentration of hydrogen sulfide in the air can directly paralyze central nervous cells, leading to death.
