This product is the flower buds and inflorescences of Pale Butterflybush Flower (Buddleja officinalis Maixim.), a perennial deciduous shrub of the Scrophularia Root family. Produced in Hubei, Sichuan, Shaanxi, Henan and other places. Harvest when the flowers are not open between February and March. Pick clustered flower buds, remove branches and other impurities, and dry them in the sun. The ones with dry body, dense flower buds, grayish-yellow color, hairy and soft texture are better.

Common counterfeit products ─Edgeworthia chrysantha Lindl is an inflorescence composed of dense flower buds of Edgeworthia chrysantha Lindl. Distributed in Yunnan, Guizhou, Guangxi, Henan, Hubei, Shaanxi and other places. The dried product gathers into clumps, and the surface is densely covered with light yellow shiny silk-like hairs.
