peeled and de-cored, boiled black, ground like fat 7.5gm (1 fēn) Grind the above three ingredients into a powder, add Croton Fruit, and further pound it in a mortar. Mix with plain water and take orally. Strong individuals should take half a coin's worth of powder (1.5 grams) each time, while weaker individuals should reduce the dosage. If the illness is above the diaphragm, vomiting will occur; if below the diaphragm, diarrhea will occur. If there is no diarrhea, drink a cup of hot porridge; if diarrhea persists, drink a cup of cold porridge. If there is fever and the skin remains hot, and the desire to cover oneself with clothing persists, or if water is splashed or washed over the body, it will further trap the heat and prevent it from dissipating. If sweating should occur but does not, it will cause irritability. If sweating has already occurred and there is abdominal pain, take three taels of Peony Root as described above.
