Prepared Rehmannia Root (Radix Rehmanniae Praeparata) 6gm (2~3 qián)
Peony Root (Radix Paeoniae Alba) wine-fried 6gm (2 qián)
Chinese Yam (Rhizoma Dioscoreae) stir-fried 6gm (2 qián)
Barbary Wolfberry Fruit (Fructus Lycii) 6gm (2 qián)
Liquorice Root (Radix Glycyrrhizae) roasted 3gm (1 qián)

The above ingredients are prepared with 400 ml of water, decoted to 280 ml and administered before meals while warm.

[Efficacy]

Nourishing blood enriching yin.

[Indications]

Yin deficiency means scanty blood, dizziness, palpitation, shallow yellow complexion, and weak pulse manifestation; women have late stage [third stage] menstruation, small amount and pale color, and abdominal pain due to deficiency.

[Addition and subtraction]

If you are frightened, severe palpitation, sleepless and profuse sweating, add 6 grams each of date kernel and Poria with Pine; if you have both Ying deficiency and cold, remove Peony Root and add Fresh Ginger Rhizome; if there is qi stagnation pain, add Cyperus 3 to 6 grams.
