In the formula, PinelliaGastrodia Tuber is the main herb, as Pinellia can dry dampness and resolve phlegm, downbear counterflow to stop vomiting. For phlegm syncope headache, Pinellia is indispensable; Gastrodia Tuber is known as the "wind-calming herb," and for internal stirring of deficient wind, dizziness, and blurred vision, Gastrodia Tuber is essential. For excessive phlegm and turbidity, Medicated Leaven and Germinated Barley are used to disperse it; for excessive phlegm and dampness, Atractylodes and Poria are used to promote urination; as phlegm can obstruct qi, Dried Tangerine Peel is used to move qi, Dried Ginger to warm, and Phellodendron Bark to clear; Ginseng and Astragalus Root are used to warm the middle and tonify qi.
