Croton Fruit and Bitter Apricot Seed are separately ground, then mixed evenly with the previously prepared medicinal powder. Using six taels of high-quality yellow wax, dissolve it, filter through a fine silk cloth to remove residue, and combine with one sheng of good wine. Boil several times in a clay pot until the wine cools and the wax floats. Then, take one tael of clear oil, heat it in a wok until cooked, add four taels of wax, and melt into a liquid. While still hot in the wok, mix with the medicinal powder and stir evenly. Form into bean-sized pills. Take thirty pills each time, swallowed with ginger soup on an empty stomach.

  1. Yiguan said: This prescription is incredibly miraculous, although it contains Croton Fruit, it does not cause diarrhea, and the accumulation is naturally digested.
  2. Li Shi-zhen said: A woman over sixty years old had been suffering from loose stools for five years. Whenever she consumed raw, cold, greasy, or meaty foods, she would experience pain. She took astringent and ascending medicines, but her diarrhea worsened. Her pulse was deep and slippery. This was due to long-term damage to the spleen and stomach, with cold accumulation and stagnation. The method should be to use heat purgation. She was given fifty pills of Croton Fruit in a wax coating, and after two days, she was cured. Since then, nearly a hundred people with diarrhea and dysentery have been cured using this method.
