bubble_chart Formula Principles
The condition of Yin abscess is often caused by yang deficiency and pudendal coldness, which invade the body when it is weak, obstructing the bones, muscles, and blood vessels, leading to blood deficiency, cold coagulation, and phlegm stagnation. Treatment should focus on warming yang and tonifying blood, while also dispersing cold and relieving stagnation. In the formula, Prepared Rehmannia Root is heavily used as the main herb for greatly tonifying yin and blood; Cervi Deer-Horn Glue nourishes blood and assists yang, working together with Prepared Rehmannia Root to generate essence and tonify blood to strengthen bones, and is combined with Cassia Bark and Blast-Fried Ginger to warm the interior and dissipate cold, thus promoting blood circulation, all serving as auxiliary herbs; Ephedra and white mustard seed assist ginger and cassia bark in dispersing cold coagulation and resolving phlegm stagnation as assistant medicinals; moreover, Prepared Rehmannia Root and Cervi Deer-Horn Glue are both moist and greasy in nature, and with the dispersing and unblocking effects of ginger, cassia bark, ephedra, and mustard seed, they tonify without causing stagnation, achieving a synergistic effect; Liquorice Root removes toxins and harmonizes the other herbs as a guiding medicinal. The combination of these herbs has the effects of nourishing blood, warming yang, promoting blood circulation, dispersing cold, and dispelling phlegm, making it a primary formula for treating Yin abscess in surgery. The formula is named "Yang He" (Harmonious Yang), symbolizing its effect like sunlight, instantly dissolving cold coagulation.
