A certain individual had been ill for over ten days. Initially, there was an aversion to cold accompanied by fever, followed by alternating chills and fever, resembling malaria, with generalized bone pain, coughing up yellow phlegm, constipation, and absence of sweating. Previous doctors variously diagnosed it as warm disease or malaria, and a mix of medications was administered without success, leading to a worsening of the condition. The patient then experienced continuous fever, no aversion to wind or cold, but could not dispense with clothing and blankets, fell into a deep sleep, remained silent and refused food, with flushed cheeks in the afternoon, a yellow-white slippery coating on the tongue, and a deep, faint pulse. The True Warrior Decoction was administered with the addition of Dried Ginger, Asarum, and Wuwei. After one dose, the patient regained consciousness and the fever subsided. After a second dose, the cough ceased, but bone pain persisted. The treatment was then switched to Aconite Decoction, leading to a full recovery.
