This book is a comprehensive medical text, compiled by Lou Ying. It was published by Cao Zhuo in the 44th year of the Jiajing era (1565). In 1937, the World Book Company reprinted it using lead type. The entire work consists of 40 volumes, divided into 11 sections, with diseases categorized according to the yin-yang zang-fu organs. Volumes 1 to 9 cover the yin-yang zang-fu organ section, which serves as a general medical overview, detailing yin-yang, zang-fu organs, disease observation, diagnostic methods, medication, acupuncture and moxibustion, health maintenance, and contraindications. Volumes 10 to 15 focus on the liver and gallbladder. Volumes 16 to 20 cover the heart and small intestine, volumes 21 to 25 the spleen and stomach, volume 26 the spleen and lungs, volume 27 the lungs and large intestine, and volumes 28 to 29 the kidneys and bladder, each introducing the diagnosis and treatment of diseases related to the respective zang-fu organs. The author categorizes diseases based on their symptomatic characteristics under the respective zang-fu organs and discusses them in separate sections, such as classifying apoplexy, epilepsy, convulsive syncope, common cold due to overstrain, spasms, anger, tetanus, eclampsia, and eye diseases under the liver and gallbladder section. The diseases discussed are mostly common, primarily internal medicine Zabing, but also include surgical, gynecological, and five sense organs diseases. Volumes 30 to 33 focus on cold-damage diseases, primarily cold-damage diseases, but also include warm diseases, summerheat diseases, and pestilence. Volumes 34 to 35 cover women's health, discussing general treatments, menstruation, leucorrhea, pregnancy, and childbirth. Volumes 36 to 39 are dedicated to pediatrics, covering general treatments and diseases related to the five zang organs. Volume 40 deals with the theory of five movements and six climates.

This book is rich in content, with a clear Gangmu, and has been highly regarded by later generations.
