This book is a comprehensive medical text, consisting of sixteen volumes, written by Zhang Lu in the 34th year of the Kangxi reign (1695). The first twelve volumes discuss diseases, including internal medicine, surgery, gynecology, pediatrics, and the five sense organs, categorized by type and syndrome. It extensively references ancient literature and medical theories from various historical physicians. For each disease, it first presents the discussions from Neijing and Jingui Yaolue, followed by references to later physicians such as Sun Si-miao, Li Dong-yuan, Zhu Dan-xi, Zhao Xian-ke, Xue Ji, Zhang Jie-bin, Miao Zhong-chun, and Yu Jia-yan. It also incorporates personal clinical experiences to offer commentary, generally synthesizing various viewpoints without much original insight. However, the overall medical philosophy is closer to that of Xue Ji and Zhang Jie-bin, and it strongly advocates the theory of "yang is not excessive, true yin is insufficient." From apoplexy to infant diseases, it is divided into sixteen categories, each further subdivided, following the format of Wang Ken-tangZhengzhi Zhunsheng, but with more meticulous selection and compilation. The last four volumes discuss prescriptions, divided into 94 categories, with one volume dedicated to ancestral prescriptions, detailing their origins, combinations of medicinals, functions, and indications. The other three volumes are specialized prescriptions, categorized by disease and accompanied by explanations.

Additionally, the work titled Zhangshi Yitong, which is actually part of Zhangshi Yishu Qizhong, was compiled and published in 1699. It includes Zhangshi Yitong, Benjing Fengyuan, Diagnostic Essentials, Introduction to Cold-Damage Disease, Further Discussion on Cold-Damage Disease, Tongue Diagnosis in Cold-Damage Disease, and Analysis of Complex Syndromes in Cold-Damage Disease, forming a series of medical texts.
