[Origin]
The tibialis anterior muscle at the point is as narrow and long as a "strip"; it is also located between the tibia and fibula bones. When pressed, there is a large "mouth", hence the name.

[Anatomy]
- Muscle: tibialis anterior.
- Nerve: The lateral sural cutaneous nerve and the cutaneous branch of the saphenous nerve, the deep layer is the deep peroneal nerve.
- Vessels: Anterior tibial artery and vein.
[Manipulation]
Perpendicular insertion 1 to 2 inches. moxa cone moxibustion 3 to 5 minutes, moxibustion with moxa stick 5 to 15 minutes.
[Efficacy]
Regulates the intestines and stomach, invigorates qi and clears away heat.
- Classical: shin disease, slow foot loss, inability to lie down due to cold shin, foot pain, flaccid foot, cold foot, epigastralgia, intestinal hernia, diarrhea, sore throat, femoral thrombotic phlebitis, muscle cramp , soreness, swelling and pain, fixed arthralgia, heat in the feet.
- Modern: scapulohumeral periarthritis (shoulder pain and inability to lift).
