Chest, nipple in the middle. For men, it is approximately the space between the fourth rib or the upper edge of the fifth rib, 4 inches from the front midline.
- Zhenjiu Jiayi Jing: "Ruzhong (ST17), acupuncture is prohibited";
- Zhenfang Liuji: "Be the nipple."
[Anatomy]
- Muscles: pectoralis major, the deep layers are the internal and external muscles of the fourth intercostal space.
- Nerve: Anterior cutaneous branch of the lateral branch of the fourth intercostal nerve.
- Vessels: lateral thoracic arterial and venous branches.

Acupuncture and moxibustion are generally prohibited.

Generally used as body surface positioning marks.
- Classical: epilepsy, sudden epilepsy in children, death due to heat in the summer months. Acute mastitis: Yingchuang (ST16), Ruzhong (ST17), Rugen (ST18), Juxu Xilian (LI8), Taichong (LR3), Xia Liu.
