This acupoint is used for both diagnosing and treating appendicitis, hence the name "Lanwei" (appendix).

On the upper anterior side of lower leg, 5 cun below
Dubi (ST35), one finger-width lateral to the anterior border of tibia.

- Muscles: tibialis anterior muscle and extensor digitorum longus muscle.
- Vessels: anterior tibial artery and vein.
- Nerve: lateral sural cutaneous nerve and deep peroneal nerve.

Perpendicular insertion 1.5~2.5 cun.

Acute and chronic appendicitis, epigastric pain, indigestion, lower limb weakness and numbness, foot drop.
