In front of the ears on the face, in the depression formed by the zygomatic arch and the mandibular notch. When the mandibular condyle of the elbow of the mouth is moved forward, the depression disappears.

[Anatomy]
- Muscles: There is the parotid gland under the skin, which is the starting point of the masseter muscle.
- Nerves: zygomatic branch of facial nerve, auriculotemporal branch of mandibular nerve; the deepest layer is the mandibular nerve.
- Vessels: transverse facial artery and vein, the deepest layer is the maxillary artery and vein.

- Classical: tinnitus earache, toothache, tooth dislocation disease, vertigo, crooked mouth and eyes, pus in the ears, deafness, ringing, swollen neck, chronic wind-cold, gum pain, bad wind-cold, do not chew, spasm.
- Modern: trigeminal neuralgia, facial nerve palsy, otitis media, temporomandibular arthritis.
