bubble_chart Etymology "Huagai" (華蓋) is the name of stars. According to Songshi-Tianwen Zhi (History of Song-Astronomical Records): "Huagai constellation consists of seven stars, with nine supporting stars resembling a canopy with a handle hanging down, covering the seat of the Great Emperor. It is located above the Purple Palace near the constellation Gouchen (勾陳)."
The acupoint is located above Zigong (CV19).
Alternatively, "Hua" (華) means magnificent; "gai" (蓋) means canopy, which was used by emperors. Lung, located above heart (the ruler), are considered the "canopy" of five zang-organs. The acupoint is located on front of chest and is related to lung.
