"Zigong" (紫宮) refers to the Purple Palace, a star name in ancient Chinese astronomy, believed to be the seat of Heavenly Emperor. The acupoint is located near heart and is closely related to it, hence the name.

  • Muscles: superficial fascia is thin, with almost no fat.
  • Nerve: medial branch of anterior cutaneous branch of second intercostal space.
  • Vessels: anterior perforating branches of the internal thoracic (mammary) artery and vein.
