"Qu" (曲), curved; "gu" (骨), bone. It originally refers to pubic symphysis, named for its slightly curved shape. The point is located above it, hence the name. Beiji Qianjin Yaofang‧: "At the center of pubic bone above genitals, curved like a crescent moon."
