Strong, hard; between, middle. The occipital bone is very hard, and the acupoints are in it, hence the name.

4 inches above the midline of the headrest hairline, when
Baihui (GV20) and Fengfu (GV16), 1.5 inches below
Naohu (GV17).
[Anatomy]
- Muscle: galea membrane.
- Nerve: branches of the greater occipital nerve.
- Vessel: anastomotic network of left and right occipital arteries and veins.
[Manipulation]
Subcutaneous insertion 0.3~0.5 inches. Direct moxibustion is prohibited.
[Efficacy]
Clear the boss, dispelling wind evil.
- Classical: brain spinning, eye movement, headache, irritability, vomiting, drooling, stranguria, epilepsy, shaking head, crooked mouth, tears.
- Modern: insomnia, hysteria.
[Recipe]
- headache is difficult to ban: Qiangjian (GV18), Fenglong (ST40).
- Trouble: Baihui (GV20), Qiangjian (GV18), Chengguang (BL6).
